Firelock Games has lots of events planned for Adepticon 2024 and Blood & Plunder in particular has a full slate of events including multiplayer narrative events, tournaments, free play sessions and full demos.
All of the events listed below will be hosted at the “historical secondary location” at the Hyatt Regency Hotel, 1800 E Golf Rd, Schaumburg, IL 60173
Learn to Play Events
Firelock Games will be offering shorter sea demo games at their booth in the vendor hall during open hours, but we will be offering full length, learn to play games at land or sea in the Blood & Plunder gaming area.
We will provide instruction, a helpful rules summary sheet, and everything needed to play a 100 points land or sea game of Blood & Plunder. You can bring a friend to learn to play with, or you can play against one of our Blood & Plunder experts!
Times for demos include:
- Friday, 1:00-3:30pm
- Saturday, 1:00-3:30
Open Play
Tables will be open for experienced players to sit down and game on sea, land, or amphibious boards. Some assistance and loaner armies may be available, but most for the volunteer force will be focused on facilitating demos at this time of day.

Blood & Plunder Land Tournament
Thursday, March 21st, 2-8pm
Possibly THE PREMIER land tournament of the year for Blood & Plunder! With 40 slots open this year, we’re expecting a big crowd! Bring a 150 land force from any Blood & Plunder publication. Please, PLEASE, register here for this event with your Forcebuilder army link so we can very your Force and have a record of the tournament lists.

Blood & Plunder Sea Tournament
Saturday, March 23rd, 5-11pm
Possibly THE PREMIER sea tournament for the year for Blood & Plunder. With 40 slots open this year, we’re expecting a big crowd! Participants must have played before and bringing your own army is strongly encouraged. There will be limited loaner armies available but you must register and let us know you’ll need one beforehand so we know how many armies we need prepared.

Blood & Plunder Narrative Events
These “convention games” are always a highlight of a con. There will be three large 6 player games, utilizing the army scale rules for quick play. With a sea, land and amphibious scenario, you can experience a wide range of what Blood & Plunder has to offer.
Each scenario is based in a historical event, although some have been “spruced up” to make them a little more combative and fast paced for gaming purposes.
Battle of Panama – Land Event
Thursday, March 21st, 9-11:30
The bold Henry Morgan and his army of Buccaneers have journeyed across the isthmus of Panama and they are hungry for plunder! Join either the Spanish defenders or the Buccaneers attackers in an epic multiplayer battle for the fate of Panama and uncounted plunder. Bring a 200 Point Spanish or English/Buccaneer Land Force.
Limited loaner forces available – MUST Pre-register to guarantee a loaner force.

Assault on Charles Town – Amphibious Event
Friday, March 22nd, 9-11:30am
Charles Town has been a thorn in the side of both Spanish and French holdings in the New World for long enough! During Queen Anne’s War, the French and Spanish have allied to wipe this corrupt town off the coast! Join the English and their Native American allies to defend or join the Franco-Spanish alliance in their attack on the Colony of South Carolina. Bring a 150 point land force (for either side), or a 200 point sea force for the English. Franco-Spanish sea forces will be provided (6th Rate Frigates).
Limited loaner forces available – MUST Pre-register to guarantee a loaner force.
This will be a non standard amphibious battle with land and sea forces controlled by both sides. Scenario details and suggested force lists forthcoming.
Charles Vane’s Escape from Nassau – Sea Event
Saturday, March 23rd, 9-11:30am
The British have arrived at Nassau with soldiers, a governor and a pardon for all pirates willing to take it. Charles Vane is not willing to furl his black flag and mocks the incoming Woodes Rogers! In this epic battle, the pirates, led by Charles Vane with his dangerous fireship will be attempting to either escape or destroy the blockading British frigates at the mouth of the Nassau harbor.
Bring a 200 Point Pirate Ship (Sloop or Brigantine or smaller) or 200 Point British Support Ship (Light Frigate) or a 150 Point British Militia/Army to occupy a large 6th Rate Frigate (provided). Scenario details and suggested forces here.
