Welcome to the Plundery part of the Summer of Plunder! We have a great lineup of prizes from a fantastic list of generous individuals and companies this year!

Summer of Plunder Prizes Support Overview

This year we are featuring several weekly giveaways, in addition to some ship prize awarded every other week, and some major prize support specifically aimed at new players on the alternating weeks. These weekly giveaways will be awarded using a random drawing system, so all participants are eligible.

At the end of the contest, we have some more prizes to give away, usually for accomplishing some specific. These you can strive to win by playing a lot of games, or fulfilling some other challenge.

Weekly Prizes

Every week there are 4 regular prizes plus a 5th alternating prize package.

Miniatures & Terrain

At the end of each week we will be giving out a set of miniatures and a terrain prize of some sort. These prizes will be drawn at random from participants that submitted games over the course of the week. Each “point” you score from your game (game size, teaching new players, playing in public space and accomplishing the weekly objective) counts as one “raffle ticket” for this drawing.

When you submit your game entry, you can choose to be in the drawing OR the Terrain or the Miniatures.

Weekly Miniatures Prize

If your name is drawn as the winner of the Minis prize, you will get a blister pack of 4 metal/resin minis from the nation you played in the game you submitted.

Weekly Terrain Prize

If your name is drawn as the winner of the Terrain prize, you will receive the Terrain Prize of the week!

Our terrain prizes have been provided by several generous sponsors as listed above.

Weekly Objective Prizes

If you accomplish the Weekly Objective (or play the scenario of the week from the OP Kit), you will be entered in another weekly giveaway!

When you make your submission you can select which prize drawing you’d like to be entered in: a book related to the scenario of the week, or a set of game accessories.

Accessory Pack Prize

Donated by Tyler at the Doubloon Lagoon, this prize features a folding ruler tool, a ship movement tool and a set of activation tokens.

Historical Book Prizes

Every week we are giving away a book related to the Scenario of the Week from the Organized Play Kit, all centered around Queen Anne’s War and the Golden Age of Piracy, the events covered in the Raise the Black expansion book for Blood & Plunder.

Ship Prizes

Every other week, on the “odd weeks,” we will be giving away a Blood & Plunder ship! (If a non-Blood & Plunder wins this prize, we can arrange an alternate prize.)

If a dedicated Native American player wins one of these prizes, we have a set of 3 Canoas to substitute if preferred.

This is a significant prize, so if you’ve won once, you will not be eligible to win again.

We’re also giving away a coupld BIG SHIPS at the end of the campaign. See below.

New Player Prizes

Every other week, on the “even weeks,” we will be giving away a significant prize away to “new players.” One of the goals of this campaign is to welcome new players into the hobby so we have some big prizes open to folks who have picked up their game system within the last 12 months.

If an Oak & Iron or Port Royal player wins one of these prizes, we can substitute appropriate product.

Port Royal Prizes from Thieves Harbor

Erich over at Thieves Harbor has donated a couple of fun prizes for Port Royal players.

At the end of the 3rd week, he will be giving out a set of the Port Royal Wild Beasts to a random player who has logged games during the first third of the contest.

At the end of the 6th week, he will be giving out a “John Finch” miniature who may have had too much to drink.

Plunder Den Prizes

Twice during the campaign, Dexter from the Plunder Den is going to be awarding someone a piece of his hand built terrain. This prize, goes out to a player who has submitted a picture with a great looking table, at Dexter’s discretion.

They have not be crafted yet, but Dexter has pledged two sets of defensive fortifications as a prize.

National Prizes

Each Commander for each national team of players has a $100 budget for prizes to give out to their players as they see fit. These prizes may range from minis appropriate to their team, or custom team tokens, accessories, or even custom exclusive miniatures!

Check your nation’s Call to Arms post or their weekly updates to watch for ways to win prizes from your team commander.

End of Campaign Prizes

At the end of the campaign we has some more special prizes to send out.

Campaign Grand Prizes

Fully rigged Spanish Galleon Ship Model

Most notable, we have a Galleon and a 6th Rate Frigate to give away! These are the biggest and most impressive ships in Blood & Plunder and we have one of each to give out!

  • Random member of the Losing Alliance – 6th Rate Frigate

Thanks to Firelock Games for donating the 6th Rate Frigate. We picked up this Galleon for a deal online and we’ve been sitting on it for more than a year trying to figure out how to give it away.

Most Public Games

For the player that logs the most “public games” at game stores or conventions etc, we have a 4×4 Amphibious Mat from Tablewar. This is a fantastic mat for amphibious games and everyone should have one!

Dead Men Tell No Tales!

Firelock Games has provided 6 of their special (and hard to get) “Dead Pirate Objective Tokens”.” One will be going to a random member of each of the 6 teams.

Best Pressganger

To the player who teaches the most new players over the course of the campaign, we have a deluxe 18th century rulebook, containing both the revised ruleset and the Raise the Black expansion book.

Admiral of the Tiny Seas

To the player who logs the most Oak & Iron games, we have a Oak & Iron expansion of their choice!

Port Royal Plunder

To the player who logs the most Port Royal games, we have a big set of plunder objective tokens and a set of Port Royal Wild Beasts from Thieves Harbor.

Frozen Plunder

We are giving away a digital copy of Frozen Empires, written by Dan Carlson, to a random player at the end of the campaign.

Most Industrious Pirate

To the player who accumulates the most player points during the campaign, we have a full set of accessories from Tyler at the Doubloon Lagoon: game ruler, ship template, activation markers, and a plunder chest to store and stransport all your accessories.

Stick it to the Pirate

We made some “commemorative stickers” for each nation this year and you can get them either from your commander, or using this request form. They are free to anyone participating in the campaign while supplies last.

Final Thoughts

These are subject to change, and by change, we mean add MORE! We have more stuff on our pile of plunder to give away, and we’re working hard to figure out how to give it away! Watch for special events during the campaign that might give you a chance to win another prize or two!
