Fight for the Cursed Treasure 2026 Halloween Blood & Plunder Scenario

It’s that time of year again! We have a new spooky Halloween scenario for your enjoyment this Halloween seasons.

Fight for the Cursed Treasure

Utilizing Firelock Games’ “The Cursed” unit they released several years ago, we’ve created a fun and flexible scenario for your local gaming group.

In this scenario, your men have salvaged some silver from an ancient Spanish galleon wreck. But an ancient Aztec curse lies on the treasure, and the not-quite-dead galleon crew take objection to your “salvaging” their treasure. During the night, they slowly come out of the sea to reclaim what they have rightfully stolen!

The Cursed

Firelock Released this unit several years back for Halloween. At 5pts, this unit looks a little expensive. They have no ranged capability, and they are Inexperienced. Even their Fight Skill is terrible at 7! But they don’t die easily!

And they don’t take Fatigue easily! With a Resolve of 2, they never slow down. But if they end up with 2 Fatigue, they dissolve into the mist and they can’t ever Rally!

Their Save numbers are good, and, the most frustrating part of this unit, they have a tendency to come back. The Undead ability lets models lets 60% of casualties be returned to the unit! But only if the unit wasn’t destroyed! So Overkill is really helpful in ridding the world of these creepy, undead Spaniards.

The Scenario

This is a flexible scenario designed for a fun and light evening with your play group. You can either form a complete team of players against The Cursed which will function according to a strict set of behavioral rules, or you can have one player manage The Cursed for a more dynamic experience.

The Defending Players will form 150pt forces deployed on the land portion of an amphibious board, defending piles of cursed treasure.

The Cursed, run autonomously, or by the Attacker, will not have a conventional force, but they will spawn new units during setup and before each game turn. They won’t even have a commander! Just swarms of Undead with one goal: to recover their treasure.

The Cursed will activate with cards off the top of their deck instead of from a hand of cards.

And if they reach a Treasure token, they will pick it up and slowly move back to the sea! If they move into the ocean, the Treasure token is lost to the Defenders! But the less treasure on shore, the less undead spawn every turn! But if The Cursed recover more than half the starting Treasure, they have won the game!

Models for The Cursed

Most of you veteran gamers probably have a bunch of skeletons or zombies or something you can already use as models for The Cursed. But if you don’t, we have some recommendations!

If you like to print your own models for something like this, you can find some great skeletons here from Brite Minis. They run a Patreon that gives you access to supportless STL models for a variety of purposes and eras.

Garrett printed up a set of these, adding some morion helmets to bring them more into period.

Joseph utilized the Wargames Atlantic Skeleton Infantry set.

These are strangely themed as ancient Greek skeletons, but you can easily build them more generically, and you can even add some extra bits from your Blood & Plunder plastic sprues if you want some weapons or hats.

You have to trim a few weapons off of arms to make the complete set without the spears and bows provided in the kit, but its an easy project.
