Campaign Map Update – Week 7 of Summer of Plunder 2026

We just finished the 7th full week of the 2026 Summer of Plunder Campaign and Queen Anne’s War is raging across the new world. The Bourbon alliance has kept their lead and we’re heading into the last couple weeks of the campaign. How did the conflict play out this week?

In this update we’ll look at the campaign map where players on two grand alliances have made choices on where to deploy troops in an effort to control the New World. With the central Florida/Carolina theater shut down last week, the conflict has narrowed, and as the two sides get to know each other’s strategies and tactics, this campaign is getting trickier!

This update will only look at the movements on the Campaign Map. A follow up post will feature more pictures, messages from commanders, and prize winners.

Updated Campaign Map – End of Week 7 of Summer of Plunder 2026

Here is the new updated map after all actions were accounted for.

Map Changes

Here are details of the attacks and defenses in the various theaters of the campaign map.

Final Outcomes of the Campaign Map for Week 7 of Summer of Plunder 2026

With the Southern theatre closed, and the Campaign entering the final weeks, fierce fighting continued across the Caribbean and into the Northeast.

NE – New England & New France

The Northern Theatre erupted back into heavy fighting this week, with 24 of the 34 British-Alliance army points committed to the front. The overwhelming focus of the offensive was once again Quebec and Albany, as the British, Dutch, and Pirates attempted to finally break Bourbon resistance in the North. Cannon smoke once again shrouded the ancient walls of Quebec as wave after wave of British, Dutch, and Pirate troops pressed the city’s battered defenses. Albany continued to see fierce fighting this week, as we saw both alliances pouring fresh troops into the struggle. A small probing raid from Pirate vessels quickly erupted into a sharp and chaotic skirmish in the harbor of St. Johns. Muskets cracked, steel flashed, and by day’s end both sides were bloodied, but the Pirates were repulsed.

The Bourbon Alliance, however, had anticipated the renewed offensive. 20 of their 34 force points were committed to the Northern Theatre, with the majority concentrated around Albany, while additional Spanish and Native reinforcements helped bolster Quebec’s defenses.

The result was another week of fierce fighting. Quebec narrowly remained in Bourbon hands, despite determined assaults from all three British-aligned nations, while the defenders successfully repelled the British Alliance at Albany, denying them another foothold in the region. Meanwhile, a sharp skirmish in St. Johns left both sides bloodied, with neither alliance gaining a decisive advantage.

By successfully holding Quebec and preventing the British Alliance from seizing Albany, the Bourbon commanders maintained their Domination bonus in New France and denied their opponents a breakthrough to weakly held territories. At the end of the week, French Earned 28 points for their holdings in the North, while the British Alliance earned 13 points.

Caribbean

Both Alliances saw some action in the Caribbean, though saved the greater parts of their forces for the war in the North.

The British-Dutch-Pirate Alliance adopted a far more defensive posture in the Caribbean. Rather than launching major invasions, they focused on strengthening their existing holdings, reinforcing the key ports of Jamaica, Curaçao, and Antigua against the expected Bourbon response, utilizing 10 of their 34 troops here.

The French-Spanish-Native Alliance committed committed 14 of their 34 forces to the theatre. French fleets struck toward Antigua while combined Bourbon forces tested the defenses of Jamaica.

The assault on Jamaica was quickly repulsed by its reinforced defenders, while the attack on Antigua proved a much closer affair. The fighting at Antigua raged from the beaches to the harbor batteries as French warships and landing parties sought to wrest the island from British hands. Victory hung in the balance until the final volleys, when determined defenders managed to hold the line and keep the Union colors flying over the port.

As another week closes in the Caribbean the British Alliance successfully preserved its key strongholds, while the Bourbon commanders demonstrated they remain more than capable of threatening them. Though the maps changed little this week, both sides know the Caribbean remains a powder keg, where the next great offensive could reshape the entire theatre. The British Alliance maintained its domination bonus of the Caribbean, and earned 26 points, while the French Alliance earned 15 points. In a wild coincidence – both teams counteracted each others strategies, and not a single territory changed ownership this week!

A map with ownership unchanged, but bloodied nonetheless.

Campaign Victory Points for Week 7

The French-Native-Spanish alliance successfully defended the key battlegrounds of Albany and Quebec (barely), with little aggressive action elsewhere.  They managed to further the spread in points, earning 43 points this week for a nice neat total of 300 points to date. Their position is more precarious than first glance – however- as desperate eyes look to new targets and angles of attack…

The British-Pirate-Dutch alliance led a massive assault on Quebec – nearly taking the city, and fought valiantly for Albany. They showed good coordination in targets this week, despite falling short on both fields. They Earned 39 points this week, for a total of 272 points to date. Though they have fallen behind in points, they have well defended positions, and new opportunities may present themselves that could turn the tide in the final weeks…

Details of Team & Commander Votes

If you’re interested in how all the votes played out, here’s the data from this week’s 207 logged games. (In some of these tables, you see negative numbers. Our spreadsheets use negative numbers for British team control and positive numbers for French team control.)

  • The French concentrated on Albany, while also supporting operations against Puerto Rico and Antigua.
  • The Spanish focused primarily on defending Albany and Quebec, while also launching expeditions toward St. Johns and Jamaica.
  • The Natives reinforced the assault on Albany, supported operations around Puerto Rico, and launched raids against Jamaica, St. Eustatius, while aiding in the defense of Quebec.
  • The French Minor Powers joined the raid on St. Eustatius.
  • The British concentrated overwhelmingly on Quebec, along with attacks on Albany and reinforcing Jamaica.
  • The Dutch joined the assault on Quebec, while reinforcing Jamaica and Antigua, with a smaller expedition toward Montserat.
  • The Pirates also threw troops against Quebec, while also supporting the fighting in Albany, strengthening Curaçao, and raiding St. Johns.
  • The British Minor Powers committed their support to the fighting around Albany.

Above, you can see each of the locations voted highest by each national team.  Huge fights this week in Quebec and Albany.

Here we see the Commander and Admiral Actions – All commanders threw their votes to the Fighting in Quebec and Albany, while the Pirate Admiral reinforces Jamaica from Monteserat.

And you can see the starting control of each location, the armies sent out from each alliance, and the control results in the tables above. Absolutely boggling that not a single territory changed hands, an unlikely event going into the final few weeks.

Oak & Iron Sea Routes

The Oak & Iron games in this campaign influence several sea lanes on the campaign map that grant alliances flexibility in redeploying troops and might even bring new troops in from Europe. The votes were very close in this contest, exactly canceling each other out in a couple of cases.

The fleets finally met in the Bay of St. Lawrence, where a fierce exchange of broadsides left neither side able to claim victory. While the northern waters remained contested, French captains secured the Caribbean Trade Routes, and the British quietly claimed the New England Coast without opposition.

An interesting development! Will the French Alliance turn its eyes to the Caribbean with the welcome addition of European Reinforcements? Did the Pirate Admiral seal the fate of Quebec by denying the French the ability to transfer troops? We shall see what the final weeks bring us!

Final Thoughts for Week 7 Summer of Plunder 2026

The Campaign is coming up on the final two weeks! Will the English, Pirates and Dutch find a way to pull into the lead? The tables could still turn! If you hadn’t already noticed, there are FOUR new locations added to the map this week, 2 in the NE and 2 in the Caribbean. Now teams will have to choose to defend their own holdings, or seize the new territory, or try to accomplish both! Next week should be interesting!

There will be another campaign update including prize winners, more pictures, and messages from National Commanders coming out in the next day or two.

But the entry form has been updated to reflect to the new possible targets for each alliance, the map has been updated, and we’re ready to roll for week 6. Check in with your commanders, or better yet, start a conversation with your team and commanders in your Discord channel. Where should your team deploy their troops this week?

There were some major events in US and UK this week and we had over 200 games submitted again! We may break 2000 entries this year!

A big thanks to Daniel Wray and Jason Klotz for making the magic math happen with some super fancy spreadsheets!

Bonus Campaign Rules Summary

If this whole campaign map system is still kind of mysterious/opaque to you, you can read the campaign system rules system here, or you can read Jason’s excellent short summary below:

Blood & Plunder and Port Royal Games

  • Each point you earn from an entry includes the option to count as votes on the map.Votes determine where your Nation attacks or defends on the campaign map each week. They are the mechanism that converts player activity into map movement.Everyone in your faction is dropping votes all week long. Your Commander might say: “Everyone hit Charles Town this week!” or “We need to defend the Albany!”
If lots of players follow that plan, those locations rise to the top. Each Nation gets exactly 10 “Army Points” to spend each week, regardless of whether players logged 5 games or 500 games, but where the 10 Army Points are distributed is based on how the players voted. At the end of the week, the top 4 most popular locations determine the outcomes.
  • It’s a popularity-driven tier system. So for instance, the Dutch are awarding their 10 points as follows:
    • 1st place – 4pts
    • 2nd place – 3pts
    • 3rd place – 2pts
    • 4th place – 1pts
  • There are 32 locations on the map at the start of the game (I think), but there are only 15 locations to possibly attack/defend out of the gate…
  • To make votes effective, players must coordinate to ensure their chosen location places in the top tier, as votes for low-popularity areas receive no points.
  • At the end of the week, new troops are placed by each of the 6 nations based on their top 4 votes (Dutch get 4, 3, 2, 1).
    • Locations with troops from both alliances resolve combat (just add the numbers… British 12 troops vs 8 French… Brits win. 4 are left)
    • Points are earned by what you control. Most points at the end = winning alliance.

Oak & Iron Games

  • There are 2 “shipping lanes” per theater (4 now, 6 later)
    • 1st place – 2pts
    • 2nd place – 1ptsAlliance Admiral Choice: 1 PointHigh score wins the lane. Ties give nothing.
  • Control of Shipping Lanes offers the following benefits
    • 1 Lane (In one Theater): The Alliance may move 5 armies within that theater (even if they aren’t directly connected to the ocean)
    • 2 Lanes (In one Theater):
      • Move 5 armies within the Theater
      • gain 2 reinforcement armies from Europe
      • It functions as a blockade limiting enemy movement in that theater.
    • Own at least 1 lane in 2 Theatres:
      • Move 5 armies between the theaters.
