Firelock Games is celebrating its 10th year since first launching Blood & Plunder on Kickstarter with another big Kickstarter project. Today is the LAST DAY, so jump in now if you want the latest plunder!

Kickstarter Details

This Kickstarter is a bit different than the previous B&P Kickstarter projects. Its really two projects put together: The Wave 2 set of Minis and the Rise of Buccaneers: Jamaica project.

Wave 2 Miniatures

The Firelock Games sculptors (Daniel and Emily) have been working OVERTIME this past year. They have pretty much added a second version of ALL the units and non-unique commanders from the first few years of the game. A normal set of sculpts for “unit” in Blood & Plunder is 4 different models. Now there is a second set of 4 new models for each of your favorite units. This allows players to build out larger units with less doubling of models, and lets players create more unique units within their forces.

Using their newfound freedom to sculpt for high quality 3d printing instead of spin casting, the new sculpts are more dynamic and have more motion and detail. We’ve been painting through a bunch of the Wave 2 stuff and it’s be great! High quality, great detail, fun poses and great to put paint on.

This Wave 2 line include full resculpts for all the essential units from the main 17th century line for the Spanish, English, French, Dutch and Native Americans (Caribbean).

These new sets of sculpts are available in the standard “nation box” format with 25 models.

But in addition to these resculpts, there is another box of Cimaroons, Maroon style models to represent the various African units and factions currently within Blood & Plunder. This box has a full 25 unique sculpts right out of the gate!

The Rise of Buccaneers: Jamaica Expansion

In addition to a bunch of great new minis, there is an expansion book available in this project: The Rise of the Buccaneers: Jamaica.

This book covers the years surrounding the founding of Jamaica as a center of English buccaneering in the Caribbean . It includes a variety of English and Spanish militia and army forces, Cimaroons on Jamaica and, most prominently, the early English Buccaneers! There’s a large number of new commanders for the Buccaneers, and even some love for the Dutch (directly and indirectly).

This book is supported by an amazing line of new sculpts for historical commanders.

New Ship – Corbeta

And there’s a new ship! This is a beauty. You need to back this project just for this ship of nothing else.

As a small 3 deck ship with plenty of slots for cannons, this ship fills a unique spot in the Blood & Plunder ship fleet.

Stretch Goals and Accessories

Firelock Games is trying to keep this project lean and streamlined so they can deliver quickly (before the end of the calendar year), so there’s not a ton of extras. But we have got some great stretch goals, including some products that have been out of stock for too long!

Most notably, they are reprinting the Alternate Rig cards which have been annoyingly unavailable.

And the state cards are being reprinted and reorganized a little bit so they are more friendly to users (hopefully).

Plus a large number of fun exclusive models thrown in for free as stretch goals! We got some old goodies coming back around (retouched up and perfected for new manufacturing method), and some completely new stuff.

Pledge Levels

Basic Pledge Level

The basic pledge level gets you one nation box for a $10 discount.

Crew Pledge Level

This is where the savings starts to hit. Got to spend money to make money! Here you get a nation box, the new expansion book, and the card set (which will include a lot).

The Crew level is where you unlock a lot more value with the stretch goals. Most of the stretch goals are included for free at this level and above. In addition to the $163 of normal product, you’re getting another 8 free exclusive minis, and a free expansion pdf, which values around $95 total. So that’s really about $2360 worth of plunder for $139. It would be criminal to pass up that kind of savings!

Captain Pledge Level

You need that Corbeta and this is the best way to get it! This adds the new ship, the limited edition “decade of plunder” activation deck, and one of the fun new character models.

Admiral Pledge Level

For the serious player, the Admiral level gives you FOUR nation boxes, the ship, the expansion, the cards, the deck, all the stretch goals and the full set of 9 Character models for the Rise of the Buccaneers expansion.

ALL IN Pledge Level

This is a big one! Six nation boxes and everything else! This will keep your painting desk busy all year long!

European Friendly

They recently announced the project has become more European friendly which is huge! Nobody wants to pay taxes, dutries and crazy shipping if they don’t have to!

Final Thoughts

There’s lots more that we could say. But we will just say GO BACK IT! Great project, lots of great new minis, new material and some good deals to be had. We’re excited that the project should be filled within a matter of months.
