2026 Pacific Northwest Blood & Plunder Land Tournament Event Report

Here is a quick report on the store tournament at Geeks & Games in Oregon City on July 18th, 2026.

Summer Pacific Northwest Blood & Plunder Tournament

This is our second summer running a tournament at Geeks & Games in Oregon City, OR. Last year we ran a 250pt Sea Tournament so this year we flipped to a 200pt Land tournament.

  • Saturday, July 18th, 2026
  • 200pt Land Forces
  • Three 100 minute rounds
  • Scenarios rolled randomly from 5 possibilities
  • Scenarios used: Rescue, Encounter, Breakthrough
  • 10 players
  • Prize support of $!00, $50, and $25 gift certificates to Geeks & Games

Drawing players from Oregon, Washington, and Montana, we had some really competitive games on the table this year. Let’s out the lists that were used this year and see how they placed.

Longshanks Tournament Managment

Dr. D has done the community a great service by adding Blood & Plunder to the Longshanks event coordination website, and this was the first time we had used it to fun a major event. You can read up on how to use Longshanks here in a full article. It worked really well for us and made the event run really smooth and easy!

Players and Forces

We had 10 players, playing lists from the English, French, Pirate, Spanish, and Native nations within Blood & Plunder.

  • Riley Faulk
  • Robert Montgomery
  • Wil Depusoy
  • Adam Horton
  • Greg Martin
  • Joseph Forster
  • Nathan Koch
  • Brad Horton
  • Don Ollerton
  • Nina Montgomery

Forces Used

We had a good variety of forces present with Natives, French, English, Pirate and Spanish present. The Dutch missed out on this one!

The French and English were best represented with 3 forces each, followed by the Pirates with 2 and one each for the Natives and Spanish.

Factions represented included (links are to Faction reviews here on Blood & Pigment):

Not a repeated faction among them!

The Spanish Tercios were a fun list to see. Check out this crazy list from Adam Horton!

Seven units and 44 models in 200 points! He was making trouble with it!

I was excited to see the Kalinago on the table. Poison for days!

British Raiders were fun to see on the table. War Cry Natives without Poorly Equipped!

I played Morgan’s Buccaneers and did OK with them. But Brad Horton’s French Raiders took me down! I lost important initiative a couple times and just got out shot!

Those Braves are hard to kill when they’re far away and too dangerous when they’re not far away! And meanwhile those cheap Canadian Militia just keep shooting!

Brad played a good game and got revenge for a close game against me at Adepticon this year.

Morgan with his precious few men left.

Wil played a mean Caesar’s Men list that was throwing Stinkpots (aka Farts) this way and that all through the tournament!

I had to face him and we ground through each other’s forces in a sugarcane field until there was nearly no one left.

Nathan did really well with his Golden Age Pirates list on land, and Greg ran his English Buccaneers really well for his first tournament.

Nina came with a highly tuned French Caribbean Militia list, using some of the combos from Dr. D’s tournament winning list at Adepticon. Those French can move.

Tournament Winners

And here are our final winners!

I went 2-1 with Henry Morgan’s Buccaneers and would have taken 3rd place but had decided not to take any prizes as the TO.

3rd Place – Brad Horton’s French Raiders

Brad’s list had 38 models in 5 units, with a mix of French and Native units. With solid Shoot Saves, 6 Shoot on everything, sneaky rules like Hidden and Elusive, combined with Thrown Weapons on every unit, this was a super solid list.

Add French Seasoned Commander with both Inspiring and Cold Blooded and you got an all-star list.

Second Place – Adam Horton’s Tercio Swarm

We already looked at this list. I didn’t have to play against it, but it looked like a nightmare to fight against! Seven units with a bunch of fast and mobile units.

  • 6 Caballeria
  • 6 Caballeria
  • 6 Hostigadores
  • 6 Hostigadores
  • 11 Hostigadores
  • 4 Milicianos Indios
  • 4 Milicianos Indios
  • Mission Priest
  • Hidalgo
  • Standard Bearer
  • Experienced Spanish Commander

There’s just so many units!

1st Place – Robert Montgomery’s French Buccaneers

Robert has been rocking the French Buccaneers for nearly a year now. I had to go up against him at Adepticon and we had a brutal game! Using the Summer of Plunder Monbars the Exterminator model, Robert took first place from the 2nd table with the Horton Brothers were locked in a super tight game at the top table!

You can see Robert’s Monbars in there!

Monbars did his extermination thing and left just a few pirates on the board at the end of the third round, securing a tournament victory! Congrats to Robert for a well earned win!

Barely any men left on the board from either side!

Best Painted – Don Ollerton’s Kalinago

Don’s Caribbean Native models were highlights on the table. Those Indians have a lot going on, and he took the time to paint each little detail carefully and colorfully to great effect!

Terrain

Our club has been getting together to create a few tables of terrain for the store and this was the first time we got it on the tables! We had a few tables worth and Adam Horton generously brought down a couple more tables.

Not too shabby!

Here’s some more shots of the tournament (heavily weighted towards my games with Morgan).

Final Thoughts

Some Wave 2 and Rise of the Buccaneers Minis on display

I hope everyone enjoyed the “second annual Pacific Northwest Summer Championship”! Thanks to all the players who drove so far to come to the event.

I would like to again recommend Longshanks as a great tool to organize a tournament or event. I’m eager for some stats to build up on it as we use it more.

Always great to hang out with gamers, meet new players, learn from each other, and enjoy some great games. A high point for this year’s Summer of Plunder!
