Campaign Map Update – Week 6 of Summer of Plunder 2026

The Franco-Spanish-Native alliance has been on its heels the last two weeks as the Anglo-Dutch-Pirate alliance stormed into the Caribbean. But this week we saw the French, Spanish and Natives seize the initiative again with some clever moves. But the British team is only getting stronger in the Caribbean theater of the war while the conflict in the Florida territories has come to and end and will no longer be benefitting the French team! Lots to dive into here at the end of the 6th week of the 2026 Summer of Plunder!

In this update we’ll look at the campaign map where players on two grand alliances have made choices on where to deploy troops in an effort to control the New World. With all three theaters open, choices were overwhelming, but both teams are learning to predict the other’s movements as this campaign progresses.

Here are details of the attacks and defenses in the various theaters of the campaign map.

Final Outcomes of the Campaign Map for Week 6 of Summer of Plunder 2026

The war wages on in the Summer of Plunder, and interesting happenings continue to develop in the Northeast and Caribbean. This week saw the close of the Southeast theatre, with each alliance evacuating troops as the fighting dies down.

NE – New England & New France

About 1/2 of the British-Dutch-Pirate troops were utilized in the north this week, the major action being the assault on Albany, as well as reinforcements of Placentia, Boston, and Montreal. As British forces attempted to reclaim Albany, they met with a similar sized Franco-Spanish-Native contingent. After Bloody fighting, the Bourbons emerged victorious, and the British retreated back to Boston. At the same time, a massive French-aligned force descended upon Montreal. Fierce fighting ensued, but this too was lost. A rough week for the British Alliance in the North left them with 13 points this week.

The French-Native-Spanish Alliance again focused on the Northern Theatre this week.  26 of the 34 force points were used in the North, continuing the battle in Albany, as well as a major offensive on Montreal. In another well coordinated week,  all three members of the Alliance sent heavy reinforcements into Montreal, with a second coalition force (again) striking into Albany.   This week, however, the Bourbons were successful in the capture of both cities – albeit with a very weak grasp on Albany.   The French-led alliance was able to take the Domination Bonus this week, and earned a whopping 28 points in the theatre!

The final week in the Southeast theatre was relatively quiet, outside of a small Spanish raid on Charlestown, and Dutch raiders striking at merchants near Pensacola. Both Alliances used the opportunity to ferry troops into their holdings in the Caribbean. maintenance of this tenuous truce has earned the British Alliance 10 points, and the French Alliance 14 points in this theatre.

All that remains as this chapter closes, lies in the hands of each alliances navies – perhaps one last ship of troops can be ferried out to more hotly-contested lands – keep reading the update and find out!

Caribbean

16 of the 34 British points were flung towards the shores of the Caribbean. The Pirates led a coalition fleet and set up a sizeable holding on Monteserat.

The alliance was defensive minded in its reinforcement of Curacao, Jamaica, Nassau, and in the hasty defense of Laguna de Terminos. The western bastion of Laguna was assaulted by a Spanish-Native force.

Spanish (and gator) under Robert G’s command.

The defense was led by Dutch forces -the end result of the fighting was neither side taking a definitive victory, and Laguna falling neutral. A British vessel sailing from Nassau was able to bring supplies to build a small fortification on Antigua, cheaply seizing it for their alliance. Skillful sailing on behalf of the alliance has earned them the Domination Bonus in the Caribbean, and 26 points this week.

The French-Spanish-Native Alliance used 9 of their 34 troops this week in the Caribbean – with a limited, but effective Spanish-Native assault nuetralizing Laguna de Terminos, as well as reinforcing Cape Canaveral and Puerto Rico. Reinforcements from Pensacola also arrived in Puerto Rico, bringing the small garrison up to snuff. The French Alliance has several key striking positions, but even these are tenuous, as most of their attention in recent weeks has been driven further north. Their holdings earned their alliance 15 points this week

Campaign Victory Points for Week 6

The French-Native-Spanish alliance continue their drive of the North, taking back both Quebec and Albany, while largely ignoring both the Caribbean and the Southeast.  This Northern strategy is currently paying off, but with the close of the Southeast, and a tenuous position in the Caribbean, will it continue to do so? This week they earned 57 points in the 6th week of the campaign, for a total of 257 points to date.   As we enter the final weeks, will they be able to maintain this lead?

The British-Pirate-Dutch alliance took several key islands in the Caribbean, and while they attempted to contest Albany, were unable to keep it from French hands. Their split efforts have managed to leave them in a strong position in the two remaining theatres, but will it be enough to catch up in the final weeks?  They earned 49 points during this week of the campaign – for a total of 233 points to date.

Details of Team & Commander Votes

If you’re interested in how all the votes played out, here’s the data from this week’s 198 logged games. (In some of these tables, you see negative numbers. Our spreadsheets use negative numbers for British team control and positive numbers for French team control.)

  • The French Focused their efforts this week attacking Montreal, attacking Albany, and Defending St Johns.
  • The Spanish Also attacked Montreal and Albany, then sent assaults at Laguna de Terminos and Charles Town.
  • The Natives Too attacked Montreal and Albany, and joined Spanish efforts on Laguna de Terminos, and defended Puerto Rico.
  • The French Minor Powers jumped in on the assault of Montreal.
  • The British Forces led the fight in Albany, as well as sending reinforcemets to Curacao and claiming Monteserat.
  • The Dutch defended Placentia, joined in the efforts on Monteserat, and attacked both Pensacola and Albany
  • The Pirates Led the action on Monteserat, and worked towards the defenses of Montreal, Boston, and Nassau.
  • The British Minor Powers joined in the fighting around Albany this week.

Above, you can see each of the locations voted highest by each national team.

Here we see the Commander and Admiral Actions – Both Admirals had access to additional transfers as a result of both Alliances controlling a sea-lane in each theatre.

And you can see the starting control of each location, the armies sent out from each alliance, and the control results in the tables above.

Oak & Iron Sea Routes

The Oak & Iron games in this campaign influence several sea lanes on the campaign map that grant alliances flexibility in redeploying troops and might even bring new troops in from Europe. The votes were very close in this contest, exactly canceling each other out in a couple of cases.

In contrast to last week’s navies peacefully sailing past one another, this week they chose violence! Both Admirals attempted their command point at the New England Coast, with the majority of their fleets battling at the mouth of the Mississippi. French vessels took the now defunct Charles Town Harbor, while British fleets control the Florida straits.

With the Southeast theatre now closing, no more troops may be ferried out, and only the British Allied naval commander has the ability to transfer troops within the Caribbean for week 7.

Final Thoughts for Week 6 Summer of Plunder 2026

The French, Spanish and Natives halted the British-Pirate-Dutch steamroller this week, but both teams still have a chance for the win. With the Florida theater out of the picture, there are fewer points to be earned in these last 3 weeks of the campaign, which makes every choice that much more important! The British team has a dominant hold in the Caribbean while the French team has a strong hold on the NE. But the Caribbean will net more points into the last weeks of the war!

It’s great to see leaders on both sides carefully plot out plans, coordinate and compromise with their allies and execute complex plans!

There will be another campaign update including prize winners, more pictures, and messages from National Commanders coming out in the next day or two.

But the entry form has been updated to reflect to the new possible targets for each alliance, the map has been updated, and we’re ready to roll for week 6. Check in with your commanders, or better yet, start a conversation with your team and commanders in your Discord channel. Where should your team deploy their troops this week?

We have surpassed last year’s total number of participating players this week at a little more than 300. The week ended with a total of 1421 games logged in the campaign.

A big thanks to Daniel Wray and Jason Klotz for making the magic math happen with some super fancy spreadsheets!

Bonus Campaign Rules Summary

If this whole campaign map system is still kind of mysterious/opaque to you, you can read the campaign system rules system here, or you can read Jason’s excellent short summary below:

Blood & Plunder and Port Royal Games

  • Each point you earn from an entry includes the option to count as votes on the map.Votes determine where your Nation attacks or defends on the campaign map each week. They are the mechanism that converts player activity into map movement.Everyone in your faction is dropping votes all week long. Your Commander might say: “Everyone hit Charles Town this week!” or “We need to defend the Albany!”
If lots of players follow that plan, those locations rise to the top. Each Nation gets exactly 10 “Army Points” to spend each week, regardless of whether players logged 5 games or 500 games, but where the 10 Army Points are distributed is based on how the players voted. At the end of the week, the top 4 most popular locations determine the outcomes.
  • It’s a popularity-driven tier system. So for instance, the Dutch are awarding their 10 points as follows:
    • 1st place – 4pts
    • 2nd place – 3pts
    • 3rd place – 2pts
    • 4th place – 1pts
  • There are 32 locations on the map at the start of the game (I think), but there are only 15 locations to possibly attack/defend out of the gate…
  • To make votes effective, players must coordinate to ensure their chosen location places in the top tier, as votes for low-popularity areas receive no points.
  • At the end of the week, new troops are placed by each of the 6 nations based on their top 4 votes (Dutch get 4, 3, 2, 1).
    • Locations with troops from both alliances resolve combat (just add the numbers… British 12 troops vs 8 French… Brits win. 4 are left)
    • Points are earned by what you control. Most points at the end = winning alliance.

Oak & Iron Games

  • There are 2 “shipping lanes” per theater (4 now, 6 later)
    • 1st place – 2pts
    • 2nd place – 1ptsAlliance Admiral Choice: 1 PointHigh score wins the lane. Ties give nothing.
  • Control of Shipping Lanes offers the following benefits
    • 1 Lane (In one Theater): The Alliance may move 5 armies within that theater (even if they aren’t directly connected to the ocean)
    • 2 Lanes (In one Theater):
      • Move 5 armies within the Theater
      • gain 2 reinforcement armies from Europe
      • It functions as a blockade limiting enemy movement in that theater.
    • Own at least 1 lane in 2 Theatres:
      • Move 5 armies between the theaters.
