Huge Labor Day Rulebook Sale from Firelock Games!

Firelock Games has announced an incredible sale for the Labor Day holiday weekend! If you need any rulebook, you can pick up all their games’ core rulebooks for an insane 50% off during the week of Labor Day!

Rulebook Sale Starts Monday, September 7, 2026

I’m not sure Firelock Games has ever run a discount so deep for direct sale on their website! This is a great opportunity to either buy that updated Blood & Plunder rulebook you’ve needed for a while (and you’re absolutely going to READ), or pick up one of their other sets of rules that you’ve been interested in for a while.

Revised Blood & Plunder Rulebook

The “Revised Edition” Blood & Plunder rulebook is no longer new and there has been one round of errata put out since this rulebook was released in 2023, but it’s still a great improvement over the rulebook as released in 2016 when the game came out.

Blood & Plunder Core Rules (revised edition)

Important updates include:

  • Updated rules for Artillery
  • Updated rules for Bows
  • Errata on a number of Special Rules
  • Corrections to some errors
  • Rules for Characters
  • Various Errata applied

Published in a nice hardcover edition, this is the current gold standard for your Blood & Plunder Rulebook. If you still have the OG black covered rulebook, this is a excellent purchase.

If you have the softcover rulebook from the 2-player starter set, this isn’t a necessary purchase as it contains all the same core rules. The primary difference is that this book includes a about ten 17th century factions while the softcover rulebook contains just a handful of 18th century factions. But if you have the No Peace Beyond the Line expansion book, that book covers all the same ground with expanded versions. If you have the softcover rulebook plus No Peace Beyond the Line, you don’t need this hardcover core rulebook.

Other Rulebooks on Sale

If you’re interested in one of Firelock Games’ other “Blood and” games, this is a great chance to pick one up.

This is one I’ve been wanting to get on the table for years, but I despaired of getting enough models painted up around my all-consuming Plunder obsession.

For only $19.50, it’s worth it just to look through and enjoy the layout, art and photography!

Blood & Valor

This is reputedly the easiest “Blood &” version to pick up and play. And it supported with a great large scale expansion along with a few free downloads.

There’s a lot great miniatures available for this era, and you can get in our some tournaments at Adepticon with any number if interesting Factions that you can currently play.

Blood & Steel

Covering a wide variety of conflicts during the Victorian era, this ruleset is great for making homebrews of your favorite 19th century conflict, or running the included forces for:

  • 2nd Seminole War
  • Mexican American War
  • US Civil War
  • 2nd Taranaki War
  • Anglo-Zulu War
  • Spanish American War

There have been some great looking Blood & Steel games run at conventions the past couple years, and picking up this core ruleset would get you set up for jumping into one of those games come Adepticon in the spring.

Blood & Bayonets

Rufus really but a lot of work and love into this game and it has so much opportunity to expand! Blood & Bayonets includes expanded rules for formations, artillery, and those lovely cavalry charges Blood & Plunder players want so much!

Events should be ramping up for Blood & Bayonets this coming year at Adepticon and conventions in Florida.

Port Royal

If you have a good Blood & Plunder collection, the main thing you need to start enjoying Port Royal is the rulebook!

War Stories

The best way to save a lot of money is to spend a lot of money! The War Stories RPG books is pretty hefty at 200+ pages, and bringing that $60 price tag down to $30 is a steal!

Oak & Iron

We would remiss if we didn’t mention Oak & Iron. Firelock Games is running a perpetual 100% off sale on the rulebook for this great game!

Final Thoughts

Firelock Games has put out a lot of rulesets over the past few years and this is a great chance to catch up and grab some of these beautiful books.

You should note that this sale only applies to the core rulesets. So expansions like Raise the Black, Fire on the Frontier or End of Empires would not be eligible for this discount. Doesn’t mean you can’t throw them in to your order to save on postage, but the sale only applies to the base rule set for each game.

The sale price is applied directly without any coupon code after you start the checkout process (you’ll notice the discount isn’t applied to the expansion book below).

Sail on over to Firelockgames.com to take advantage of this super sale, running until end of day, September 14, 2026!
