As the Summer of Plunder barrels into Week 3, there is fresh opportunity on the horizon. While nations march to war and pursue their own objectives (be sure to check yours!), we campaign organizers couldn’t resist throwing in our own optional objectives with a Bonus Prize Event. This two-week event gives daring captains and cunning commanders another way to haul in some hard-earned treasure and secure a special advantage for their nation.

” It were somewhat difficult to give you an exact account of the number of persons upon the Island; there being such store of shipping that brings passengers daily to the place, but it has been conjectured, by those that are long acquainted and best seen in the knowledge of the Island, that there are not less than 50 thousand souls, besides Negroes, and some of them, who began upon small fortunes, are now risen to very great and vast estates…
…’Tis a known truth there, that no man hath attained to such a fortune as this, upon a small beginning, that hath not met with many rubs and obstacles in his way, and sometimes callings back, let his pains and industry be what it will: I call those fallings back, when either by fire, whichoften happens there, or death of Cattle, which is as frequent as the other; or by losses at Sea, which sometimes will happen, of which I can bring lively instances…
“…for the Island being of so great value, and so ill defended, it is a wonder it hath not been attempted by some potent enemy; for the riches it yields, and the weakness of its fortifications, are both well known.
Richard Ligon, 1657 -“A True & Exact History of the Island of Barbadoes.”

What Does “Bonus Event” MEAN?
This is an additional optional objective that awards bonus “plunder” in addition to the other great loot we are offering. This prize is available to all players in any nation (including the Unaligned).
While this doesn’t count as fulfilling the standard weekly objective, you can hopefully accomplish the requirements while completing your other weekly games to earn a chance at a bonus prize.
What Do You Win?
The winner of this event will get two “prizes”:
- A Physical Prize in the form of 3D-printed terrain for your wargaming table.
- A Strategic Advantage for your Nation in the week following the close of the contest.
The Physical Prize- DUTCH COLONIAL HOUSE by TimberAndSail.com
The tangible prize for this event is a 3D-printed model of a Dutch-style house from TimberandSail.com (unpainted). This design is inspired by a historical structure on the island of Bonaire built between 1633 and 1653. Perfectly suited for the tropical settings of Blood & Plunder, this terrain piece captures the architectural charm and practicality of early Dutch colonial design.

The Strategic Advantage Prize
In addition to the terrain, the winner will get to select one of the following options to help the nation on their winning entry.
- Option 1: Add a +1 to an Attack on any Location
- Option 2: Add a +1 to the Defense on any Location
- Option 3: +3 Success Modifier to the roll on your Commander’s next Raid Action.

HOW TO PARTICIPATE IN THE “NEW SETTLEMENT” EVENT
This bonus prize event is open to ALL players regardless of their nation!
- Submissions for this event will run from Satuday, June 21st- Sunday, July 6th, 2025 @ 10 PM Eastern time (GMT-5)
- When submitting your game on the entry form, please select “Yes” to the question “Did you play the ‘Bonus Prize Event’?”
Requirements to participate in this event vary by game system. Please review the appropriate section based on your chosen game system below.
Blood & Plunder Entry Requirements

- Play the “ESCORT” Scenario (in the No Peace Beyond the Line) with a minor twist. Instead of a Dignitary, the Defender must protect civilian colonists. (Stats are in Forcebuilder under ” England – New England Village Garrison”).
- The Defender gains:
- Two free units of 3 civilian models (Standard Melee only) to their force in all games.
- AMPHIB: The Defender may 2 free longboats/canoes rather than 1 in the scenario details.
- SEA: The Defender may take a free longboat. You may start with the longboat grappled to any deck on either side of your ship or deploy it separately and keep it out solo (keep it out of LOS!). You can configure your unit placement however you like, with civilians or standard units in the longboat.
- The Attacker gains a free Spy Character in their Command Unit.
- The Objectives and Strike Points are changed slightly and addressed under each scenario type below:
- LAND
- Defender gains 1 Strike Point per unit of Civilians removed as a casualty.
- Defender gains 1 Strike Point at the end of Turn 3 if any Civilian isn’t within 4″ of the board center.
- Defender gains 1 Strike Point at the end of Turn 6 if any Civilian isn’t within 6″ of the escape edge.
- Attacker gains 1 Strike Point at the end of Turn 6 for each surviving Civilian unit.
- Attacker loses automatically if both Civilian Units escape.
- LAND

- AMPHIBIOUS
- Defender gains 1 Strike Points per unit of Civilians removed as casualties.
- Attacker gains 1 Strike Point at the end of Turn 6 if any Civilian survives.
- Attacker automatically loses if all Civilians exit via the escape edge.

- SEA
- Defender gains 1 Strike Points per unit of Civilians removed as casualties.
- Attacker gains 1 Strike Point at the end of Turn 6 if any Civilian survives.
- Attacker automatically loses if all Civilians exit via the escape edge.

Civilian Unit Stats
The stats for Civilians are in the Fire on the Frontier expansion book. You can also find them in Forcebuilder under ” England – New England Village Garrison”. Or use the following. This unit may not take upgrades for the scenario.

Strategies and Tips for the Defender
Civilians are extremely fragile, with a Fight and Shoot Save of 8 and Resolve 7. You will need to be extra careful and do your best to protect them. Here are some suggestions:
- On land, use your other units to deny LOS to the Civilians
- In the Amphib and Sea scenario, consider making them go Prone to get a -2 to your Shoot Save.
- On ships/boats, put a large unit on the same deck as the Civilians. When you suffer an odd number of hits, take the casualties from the larger units.
- Keep your Civilians out of LOS as much as possible. Angle your ship(s) 7o block LOS to the long boats.
- Speed in your friend. Move as fast as you can every turn possible. Just make sure your Escort keeps up.
- On Land, a Local Guide can give units Quick and Scouts to move faster.
- Cavalry models are larger and provide more area to deny LOS to the units you are escorting.
- Stinkpots can help give you cover.
- Engaging units in Melee prevents them from being able to shoot your Civilians.
Oak & Iron Entry Requirements

Play the “Delivery” Scenario from TimberAndSail.com. In this scenario, the Attacker must deliver an important shipment of supplies, colonists, or some other “fun” objective. This scenario turns the concept of a standard Landing Party on its head. Instead of recovering an objective on an island, the Attacker must deliver an objective to an Island.

Port Royal Entry Requirements

Play with any Deployment or Scenario you wish. However, before deploying the Plunder Tokens remove 3 from the initial pool. Instead, replace them with 3 “civilian” models.
Use the rules for “Important Officials” for purposes of Strike Points and end game results. pg 76

Determining the Winner
- While you are welcome to play the objective multiple times, each player may only enter once. Duplicate entries will be null and void.
- A single winner will be selected randomly from all eligible entries.
- To enter, submit your game on the normal entry form and select “Yes” to the question “Did you play the ‘Bonus Prize Event’?”
- Entries must be received before July 3rd, 2025, @ 10 PM Eastern time (GMT-5).
- Participants must provide a valid email address.
- No purchase necessary to enter or win.
Conclusion
We hope you are enjoying the Summer of Plunder campaign so far. Thanks again to TimberAndSail.com for the prize donation! nd remember, the campaign may have already started, but people can participate and join at any time! So get out and play some games and recruit new players — you get two bonus points for doing it after all!
