This past week, the Summer of Plunder featured a special bonus prize event as sponsored by Dead Man’s Chest. Participants had the opportunity to earn extra prizes by playing the “Beached Ship” scenario from the “Raise the Black” expansion or the “PLUNDER!” scenario from TimberAndSail.com. The Shipwrecked Scenario winner is going to receive a custom leather dice tray.

Community Participation in the SHIPWRECKED event
This week’s event was well received by the community. We had 110 entries for the prize. There were 11 games of the PLUNDER! scenario for Oak & Iron (10%) and the remaining 99 were for Blood & Plunder. The variety of game tables and the photos from participants were stunning.

SHIPWRECKED Scenario Winner – Bonus Prize
Without further ado, lets get to the winner of the prize! Based on a random selection among the 110 entries,, the winner is…. [drum roll] … Danny Perkins. Danny is playing some creative narrative events and filling his entry comments with wild tales of epic battle reports so the win is well deserved.

Bonus Victory Point for the Winning Entry’s Nation

Danny’s winning entry was a game for the English British Raiders. This means that England is the receiver of the Bonus Victory Point from the event. Congrats to the English on their bonus.
This has moved England into a tie for 1st Place with the Dutch!

From a Campaign Organizer’s perspective, this week’s event was definitely one of the most thematically satisfying of any of the events we have run in any year of Summer of Plunder. The community definitely took their game boards up a level and created some very cinematic displays for their beached ships. The photos and battle reports from the events are one of my favorite parts of the global campaign. Here are just a fraction of the highlights from our submissions. I hope you enjoy these photos as much as I do!

Infamous Wanted Criminal Escapes!
The following is a fictional narrative element for the global campaign and may play into events in the coming weeks.
News has reached Port Royal that the while bound for Fort Charles, Jamiaca , the frigate Defiance was caught amongst the recent storms that have struck the region. The ship was washed ashore, beached on a island awaiting rescue or repair.

Among the ship’s cargo was a prisoner of ill repute, Maxwell Wyndham, the infamous captain of the slaver ship De Vrijheid. Amidst the chaos Wyndham staged a daring and unprecedented escape. Wyndham, was once a captain for the Royal African Company, but began engaging in piracy to pay debts incurred after the loss of his ship and cargo off the coast of Madagascar. Known for his ruthlessness and lack of loyalty, Wyndham has terrorized both the African Coast the Caribbean, exploiting the ongoing power struggles to amass a fortune in plunder. He bears loyalty to no colors and preys upon targets of all nation.
Authorities report that Wyndham’s escape occurred under the cover of darkness, with initial investigations suggesting possible inside assistance. Fort Charles’ warden, Captain Jonathan Barrett, confirms that the escape was orchestrated from within and involved the disabling of several guards.
Wyndham, known for his fierce reputation as a Roundsman, is expected to seek refuge among the lesser-patrolled waters of the region. His escape poses a significant threat to all maritime powers in the Caribbean, as his only allegiance is to his own greed.
Stay tuned for further updates on this developing story.
