Up for grabs is a Fluyt for playing games at your friendly local game store. Out of 911 entries generated for playing at the local store, the winner is Fernando Francisco Bejarano Flores! He played 7 games at his local game store over the 9 week period! Congrats!!!

Best Battle Report

This category is always difficult to judge, between the staggering amount of entries and then all the wonderful narrative adventures many of you scurvy dogs are having. As “SoP Staff”, reading the battle reports are always fun and makes us feel appreciated. However, there can only be one beat battle Report.

I am proud to announce that this year’s best battle Report Winner goes to Ret Talbot! One battle Report in particular captured my imagination, which is why he was chosen as the winner:

Here is the winning report, in all its glory:

“After the lies of freedom and the shackles had been replaced, the enslaved on the plantation would look through the windows of the main house at night and see those men, in those clothes… The drinks and food. The laughter. Those paintings hanging on the walls brought from a land across the ocean. They would see it and make plans…waiting for their opportunity.”

“And then it happened. The same raiders appeared–the ones the slaves had been released to fight previously, but now the tables were turned. They approached from the jungle. Whispered promises were made. Shackles were broken. Members of Captain Silas Redgrave’s Company were there at the plantation house that night when the alarm was raised, but confusion reigned, and orders to “Run for the Boats” went out.

The raiders closed from one side attempting to block the English retreat. Periodic shots rang out from darkened outbuildings as the units made for the safety of the bark. The first unit of English made it to cover adjacent to the dock only to find that the raiders had found cover on the opposite side.

The respective command units advanced. Units engaged in melee combat outside the front door of the plantation house, as skilled raider marksmen snuck into the kitchen door and found a window on the second floor from which they could snipe. “

“The casualties started to mount. Gunfire seemed to originate from every area of cover. Finally a unit of English made a break down the dock toward the bark. The snipers took their toll, but two musketeers made it, and they were soon joined by the survivors of a second unit that had made a suicidal dash for the bark.

The English commander, with only his standard bearer surviving, found himself pinned down by the snipers beside an outbuilding by the dock–they were the last of the English ashore. He watched as the raiding commander, with a handful of survivors, rushed the dock in a last ditch effort. The English commander, seeing is own situation was helpless, called for his compatriots to cast off, leave him behind, and make for the horizon.

It was a bitter victory…but a victory nonetheless.”

Ret will receive a copy of The Golden Age of Piracy by Benerson Little, signed by the author! A prized possession indeed, and one to hopefully continue the inspiration!

Most Notorious Scoundrel

The next prize on our docket goes to The Most Notorious Scoundrel! This title is earned by having the most individual player points for the entire campaign. The winner will be receiving a customized reproduction of a Letter of Marque, straight from Captain Marrow! Adam Marrow is a huge pirate enthusiast and makes incredible reproduction documents. The winner will be able to customize the document with his own captain name, ship name, tonnage, and number of guns.

The Most Notorious Scoundrel of 2025 is….Tyler Carlson with a whopping 171 Points! He single handedly sacked Tortuga this year with a band of rampaging Scots!

Most Notorious Privateer- Pardon from Captain Morrow

Players generally work together as teams playing the same nation. But it can be fun to play any and all nations! We have a special Letter of Pardon from Captain Morrow for the scoundrel that plays for the most different nations over the course of the campaign this year. This year we had 3 players who managed to play for Pirates, Spanish, English, French, Dutch, and Natives this year: Greg Padilla, Georgia Worthy and Jessica Knap. Greg played an incredible 25 different factions, Georgia played 8, and Jessica played 9.

And our most notorious privateer this year is Georgia!

Little Ships – Big Prize!

Not to be left out, we have a prize available for a random winner from all players who logged at least one game of Oak and Iron, courtesy of Timber & Sail.

The winner amongst all of our Oak and Iron Entries is Sebastián Valdés!

The prize is the Oak & Iron expansion of Sebastián’s choice.

Nation-Specific Prizes

The final prizes coming from national commanders have been awarded in the Week 9 Player update post. Each Commander had $100 worth of prize support for their players this year, and this is their last chance to give it away!

But there are lots of prizes to give away for each nation! The winning nation, 2nd and 3rd place all have unique prizes! Then, the remaining nations each will have a random winner for a $100 Firelock Games Gift Card!

Grand Prize – 6th Rate Frigate

“Winning the campaign” is mostly about fame and glory, but there is a nice prize for a random player from the winning nation: The glorious 6th rate Frigate! She is bristling with firepower and fast…very fast if she is well-handled!

Randomly drawing from the 74 Players who logged games for the Pirates this year, Tyler Carlson came up as the winner! This mercenary aided the Pirates in their battles and logged over 42 points to their cause! May this lovely vessel serve you well!

Three cheers for Firelock Games!

2nd Place Prize – Stone Tower Fort from Stone Temple Studios and a $100 Gift Card

The Natives came in 2nd Place this year, which is no easy feat! After 9 weeks of razing settlements and ships alike, they will get to steal one of the colony’s prized forts in order to mock and discourage them from ever stepping foot back on their ancestral lands!

Amongst the 54 players who logged games for the Natives this year, Jessica Knap is the winner! While logging a humble 6 points, she aided the cause and kept the Natives in the running!

Additionally, another Native Player will win a $100 Gift Card from Firelock games! The winner of this prize is Jeff Woodman!

3rd Place Prize – Blockhouse from Stone Temple Studios and a $100 Gift Card

Rounding out our top 3 is the Empire of Spain! Despite difficulties, they managed to keep enough territory and good will to secure 3rd place this year! I can already hear the cheering from Havana and the lovely sound of Spanish wine being poured into tankards!

The winner of this fantastic Blockhouse is John Goldrick! May this Blockhouse keep trespassers and rogues a good distance away from your holdings!

The winner of the $100 Gift card for the 3rd place nation is Omar Rodríguez! He fought hard to maintain Spain’s Empire and will be rewarded as such! Enjoy!

4th Place Prize- $100 Firelock games Gift Card

The English arrived in 4th Place at the end of this campaign! Their Commanders fostered their community and while they fought hard, the Pirates, Natives, and Spanish proved a tougher foe than expected. The winner of the $100 Firelock Games gift card is Terry Kirk! Terry fought hard for the Crown, contributing 22 points! May this gift card give you some fantastic reinforcements for next year!

5th Place Prize- $100 Firelock games Gift Card

Claiming victory the previous year usually paints a target on your back, and the Dutch really felt that this year. Despite this, they descendants of the Sea Beggars unleashed their wrath upon the other major powers in a big way! They locked horns with their bitter arch rivals (the French!) and managed to surpass them! The winner of the $100 Firelock Games Gift Card for the Dutch is Ginger Monson! Logging 13 points for the Dutch Cause, may this gift card fill your ships with more scandalous Zeeliden and your holds with more French goods!

6th Place Prize- $100 Firelock games Gift Card

In 6th place we have The French. While they put up a good fight, multiple nations seemed to hit them at just the opportune moment, and their feud with the dastardly Dutch didn’t help either. However, they still fought the good fight, and their commanders kept morale and spirits high! The winner of the 6th Place Firelock Games Gift Card is Kirk Busta! Kirk logged 77 points for the French, and fought tooth, nail, fur cap, and hunting knife to keep his nation afloat. May these funds prep your force for next year!

Unaligned Prizes: Coastal Batteries from Stone Temple Studios

The Unaligned have some special prizes this year, courtesy of Stone Temple Studios! Two players who logged games with Unaligned Factions will be receiving a Coastal Battery! May these custom fortifications keep your mercenary haven safe and secure!
