It’s mid February and time for a Blood & Plunder painting contest update! First we’ll give away a couple prizes, then highlight some entries from the last two weeks, quickly check in on the Plunder Den Terrain Flash Challenge, and finally check out the prizes for the end of the month.
We have two mid-month prizes to give away.
Terrain Prize Drawing – Silver 8 Reale Coin from St. Augustine Mint
The first prize here is a handmade reproduction genuine silver 8 Reales coin from St. Augustine Mint. This is a 1690 Potosi mint 8 Reales “cob coin” reproduction weighing about 1 ounce.

We have been giving away some reproductions from St. Augustine Mint during the past couple Summer of Plunder events, but those are cheaper “white metal.” This coin is genuine silver. Beware! It may ignite the buccaneer’s lust for treasure in your heart when you flip it in the air and hear that true silver ring! This can be used as a attractive Fortune Token, or as a collector’s display item.
Drawn at random from participants who have submitted entries in February, our winner is Evan Botkin!
Evan has entered a nice “Sandy Hill” terrain piece this month, in addition to two fine Native American Commanders in January.

Oak & Iron Prize Drawing – Oak & Iron Terrain Buildings from Timber & Sail
We haven’t had many Oak & Iron entries yet! Two entries to be precise. Bring on the Oak and Iron ships!
Our mid month prize for Oak & Iron entries is a set of custom made buildings for a coastal Oak & Iron Game, made, printed and donated by Jason Klotz from the Timber & Sail blog.

Jason has been massively helpful to the Oak & Iron community through several avenues. Not only does he run the Timber & Sail blog that is the online HQ for Oak & Iron players, but he produces custom content, STL’s, custom scenarios, and convention events and tournaments (and that’s in addition to all the Blood & Plunder content he works on here at Blood & Pigment!).
For this prize he donating a full set of buildings that he designed and printed. These can be used either for interesting coastal scenarios, or can be used for eye candy for your standard games of Oak & Iron.

This prize is going out to Gerardo Gonzalez. In addition to several Blood & Plunder entries last month, Gerardo submitted an Oak & Iron Fluyt this month. Congrats to Gerardo! Thanks for leading the charge on the Oak & Iron ships this month!

Final Thoughts
