Over the past 4 days we have had open voting on the Blood & Plunder Units and the Port Royal miniatures categories. We have some winners to announce, both for the People’s Choice categories, and the end-of-month prize drawings.
Blood & Plunder Unit Finalists
Here are the top 3 finalists for the Oak & Iron category (and one honorable mention).
Honorable Mention – Cabelleria Lancero by Greg Padilla

3rd Place Unit – French Boucaniers by Dylan Dyer
We had a clear frontrunner, but the 2nd and 3rd placing ships were exactly tied! This 1st Rate Ship of the Line by Dave Brandon and this beautifully rigged Queen Anne’s Revenge by Percy M tied for 2nd and 3rd places.

This is fine work! It’s fun to see some of the test prints of the Wave 2 Boucaniers in there as well (live on Kickstarter right now!).
Dylan’s Boucaniere were really near the top of the judges choices as well.

And both units did remarkable work at the Adepticon land tournament this year! Check out Dylan’s post on his tournament winning land force.
2nd Place Blood & Plunder Units – European Soldiers by Brent Devos
Brent entered several really great entries!
Great colors, nice highlights and impressive work on those bases. They look Expertly Drilled and Expertly Painted.

Check out a couple more of Brent’s entries that were high on the judges list as well.

Very impressive work!
1st Place Blood & Plunder Unit – Braves by Ben Perrault

With thematic basing and awesome warpaint, Ben Perralt’s unit of Braves takes the top spot this year. Congratulations Ben!

Port Royal Finalists
The Port Royal category is a new one this year, but we got some good entries.
3rd Port Royal – Spanish Objective Marker by Erich Goebel
In third place we have one of the official Port Royal objectives markers painted by Erich. The detail on a small objective like this really is impressive.

The crumbling plaster on the front of the building is a great effect. Great work Greg!
2nd Place Port Royal – Blackbeard by Kyle Pascuzzi
The top spot here was really tight! Only a difference of a single vote! Kyle did a great job painting a dirty and serious Blackbeard from the Port Royal box.

1st Port Royal – Soldier of the Forces of the Crown by Greg Padilla
Winning by one vote, we have this fine English Soldier, serving the crown!

Congrats to Greg for a job well done! You might see some more of his Port Royal work in the “Forces” category at the end of April.

Congrats to Greg and Ben for winning the top spots in Port Royal and Units category this year! Great Pirate Paint Off Medals are on the way!

And now on to the end-of-month drawing prizes!
Blood & Plunder Unit Prize – Blood & Plunder Nationality/Faction Box
This is a big prize with a $99 value and there’s brand new Golden Age Pirates Faction Box available that is awful tempting!
With 109 unit entries from 31 different painters this year, this prize goes to Dave Brandon! Dave got a bunch of Pirates and French painted up and entered this year.

Port Royal Prize – Port Royal Force Box
We had 42 Port Royal entries, all from 9 contestants this year and one of them is winning a Faction Box for Port Royal, containing 6 figures and a nice objective marker.

This prize goes out to Nate Hopkins. Check out some of Nate’s awesome kitbashing work below!

End of March Goodies – Pigment Dice, Turn Counter Die, and 1 Reale Fortune Coin
And finally we have 3 little prizes to award to random entries submitted during the month of March.
Blood & Pigment D10’s

First, the set of 10 custom Blood & Pigment d10’s from Baron of Dice goes to Ben Perrault! Double winner this month! In addition to the Braves, Ben entered some French Boucaniere and a unit of Forlorn Hope.

Blood & Pigment D6 Turn Counter Die

Our next little prize, a oversized bone D6 turn counter, goes out to Rich George!

Rich submitted a beautiful set of Spanish Soldados that made it to the top 8. Well deserved win!
1 Reale Deluxe Fortune Coin from St. Augustine Mint
And our last little prize to hand out for March is a hand made 1 Reale coin replica from St. Augustine Mint.

And this prize goes out to Brent Devos! Another worthy winner as he was right there at second place for the unit category!
From the looks of it, Brent is gearing up to play some Dutch armies this summer!

Final Thoughts
Congrats to all the winners. We’ll be getting these prizes out as soon as we can. Some of the international packages take a bit longer to get packaged up, and I know we have a “bundle” of prizes headed to one group. Thanks for your patience with getting this post out. It’s been a busy month on the home front.
