Plunder Den Terrain Flash Challenge Winners – 2026 Great Pirate Paint Off

Dexter from the Plunder Den YouTube channel hosted a special Blood & Plunder Terrain Flash Challenge over the past 5 weeks and today we get to look at the excellent entries and award a prize to the winner.

Stone Warehouse Flash Challenge

The idea was to tackle the project given in this tutorial video and complete the Stone Warehouse project within the given timeframe. Scratch building a sizeable project like this is no small project but seeing the magic of transforming a few dollars worth of foam and wood into a valuable terrain piece is pretty amazing!

Terrain Flash Challenge Entries

We had some really great entries in this contest this year! Four fantastic projects, a testament to both the skill a devotion of the contestants, and also to the high quality teaching video from Dexter!

Flash Challenge Winners

But a winner had to be selected! Dexter had a very difficult time choosing a winner here because of the consistent high quality.

Honorable Mentions

The margin for winners here was so tight! In honorable mention we have Montgomery M and Peter J.

Montgomery’s entry shares a color palette with Dexter’s work and looks like it could be straight off one of Dexter’s tables. I really like the moss added to the stonework and chains and pulleys.

Peter J’s blue painted entry also has a playable and gritty interior.

Second Place – Ret T

In second place we have Ret T with his white stone warehouse. Ret has been working on a whole set of buildings for a Barbados town project and he did a great job here. The varied stonework on the bottom level, the period posters, and the FULLY FUNCTIONING PULLEY SYSTEM are both highlights for me.

Ret included some WIP shots as well:

First Place Winner – Dave B

Dexter mentioned appreciating the cobblestone base and the very consistent and “finished” paint job on Dave’s entry here,

Winner’s Prize

Dexter is currently working on the prize for this contest. He has described it as “A fully playable, two-story Tudor style building. It’ll probably have a stone base thatched roof.” And if I know Dexter and I know it will be epic!

Final Thoughts

A huge thanks to Dexter and The Plunder Den for hosting this challenge and supporting the Blood & Plunder/Firelock Games community!

Make sure to check out Dexter’s YouTube channel. He’s recently finished a massive project and you don’t want to miss his final videos on that sprawling table.

You still got another week to get your Blood & Plunder Unit and Port Royal Mini entries in and then in April we focus on the big projects: Blood & Plunder Ships and Forces. Now I got to get back to packing for Adepticon!
