A CALL TO ARMS FROM NASSAU

To All Sons and Daughters of the Sea, To Cutthroats, Corsairs, and Patriots of Fortune

From the waters of Nassau, we find the sea doesn’t sleep—she seethes, she schemes, she summons. Our brethren in Rhode Island, St. Thomas, and Tortuga call the same. The water churns and the wind howls with the same haunting cry – War.

The great lions of Europe, bare their fangs once more—England and France, Spain and the Dutch, each hungry for gold, glory, and dominion over the New World’s riches. Their fleets prowl the waves, their banners bristle over stolen islands, and their galleons groan with plunder not yet claimed. Do not forget the prowling jaguar, Native warriors of the old isles, blood-bound to land and storm. No coin drives them, only vengeance and wrath. They pretend they are different than the Europeans, but they seek crown and dominion, just the same.

But let it be known—the sea bows to no crown!

While king and chief squabble over treaties and maps, we sail under the oldest law there is—might and boldness! Now is the hour to strike like thunder from the deep.

Pirates! Let the black flag fly where their standards falter.

We’ll take gold from their holds, rum from their cellars, and vengeance from their throats. Every port we raze, every convoy we scatter, brings us closer to the true empire—an empire carved by cannon, ruled by daring, and etched into the bones of the sea itself.

So gather, ye sea-wolves, bring your ships, your grudges, and your thirst for glory.

Let sail the Season of Plunder! Let kings tremble, and may the Devil take the hindmost!

TO THE DEPTHS WITH THE CROWNS—TO GLORY WITH US!

Pirate Commander Daniel Wray

Hi all, my name is Daniel Wray, and I’m excited to step in as the Pirate commander this year.  I played for Spain in last year’s Summer of Plunder, but thankfully was shown the error of my ways, and will proudly wave the Skull & Bones. I work as an accountant- the most piratical of professions.  I started playing Blood and Plunder in 2023, and just this April had my first game of Port Royale.

In my freetime (outside of Blood & Plunder) I enjoy home brewing, cooking, dirt biking, canoeing, hunting, rugby, reading, and generally being outdoors with my wife, dog, family, and friends.    I am an avid “pontoon pirate”, and love spending time on the lakes, rivers, and reservoirs of Northern Indiana.

Pirate Second-in-Command – Greg Padilla

Hello, I go by Greg or “P”…or something on those lines.

I’m a retired U.S. Air Force Military Policeman (Defender); and still work for Uncle “Sugar” today. I picked up tabletop historical gaming back in the early 90s by accident from a friend, as we exchange our hobbies; mine was model railroading and his was 15mm Naps.  Eventually I joined a local club which did nothing but game historical in 15mm.

I started gaming “Pirates” using the “Limey’s and Slimey’s” rules, but I soon outgrew them and delved into many many different Pirate game systems. Until I accidentally saw the first of eight videos from Firelock Games several years ago for their new game, “Blood & Plunder”. Having not played the rules, I was hooked and knew this was the system for me. Since then I have supported every Kickstarter for their game.

I consider myself more of a modeler than a gamer…but love doing both. I host two big games a year at my place for “Talk Like a Pirate Day” (September) and the other in November for my BIG B-Day Pirate game…which is going on its 15th year…Wow! At this event, I come up with different themes and give away a lot of prizes (booty) and make my famous “Crazy-P’s Turkey chili for each event. I also have your sons (young men) Dillon and Dan (L-R) which have been gaming since they could start walking and still game today. The pic above is our end game pic from last year’s BIG B-Day Pirate Game. I was honored to be your Pirate Commander in 2023, served as second in command in 2024, and happy to be back for another year!
