Blood & Plunder at AdeptiCon 2026

AdeptiCon 206, held March 25th-29th, is the premier wargaming convention in the United States and also the hottest convention for Blood & Plunder events! Firelock Games has commissioned Blood & Pigment to run the Blood & Plunder events at AdeptiCon for the past few years and it has been a ton of fun (and work)!

Plans are solidifying for events at this year’s Adepticon! More details will be forthcoming, but here is some basic information.

Blood & Plunder Demos

Daily land and sea demo games, once per hour every morning on Thursday, Friday and Saturday.

Demo games will accommodate 2-4 players and feature forces of 3 units, around 70 points for land games and around 120 points for sea games. We have assembled 16 devoted demo forces for the week, 8 of them brand new models all painted up by Dan Carlson!

Land games will feature Spanish Militia, English Buccaneer and French Buccaneer forces. Sea forces will include Pirate forces and British Militia Pirate Hunter forces in Balandras in Bermuda Sloops.

Blood & Plunder Narrative Events

We will be running a wide variety of multiplayer narrative, historical, and competitive events.

Henry Morgan at Maracaibo (Battle at the Bar)

This will be our big historical sea game of the convention. Henry Morgan and his fleet are blockaded by the Spanish and they must break out. Will heavier shipping, or brilliant tactics in the day?

This will be a 6 player game that players should jump into with some previous experience. All miniatures, ships and game materials will be provided.

“In 1669, Henry Morgan, the Buccaneer leader of raids on Puerto del Príncipe and Portobello, had just ransacked the major towns and cities in the area of Lake Maracaibo for 8 weeks straight. As his buccaneers attempt to leave the area with their loot, they find themselves trapped by the Spanish pirate hunting fleet, the Armada de Barlovento. The Spanish offer Morgan and his men terms: surrender the loot and prisoners, and return to Jamaica peacefully. Morgan puts the terms to his men as a vote, and they choose to fight the Spanish galleons to open a way out.

Henry Morgan at Maracaibo Schedule

This game is being offered on Thursday, Friday & Saturday at 8:30am, and in the afternoon at at 2:00 on Thursday.

The Flames of Tobago

This scenario represents one of the skirmishes on Tobago during the 1677 struggle for the island between the French and the Dutch. This is a 4 player game with teams of two players fighting it out over a sugar planation (custom terrain made by Jason).

“In 1677, the Dutch and French were locked in a brutal colonial struggle over the island of Tobago in the Caribbean. The island was torn by conflict multiple times, but in December, the French launched a major campaign to seize the Dutch-held colony. The French landed a substantial force and attacked the Dutch fortifications, leading to a destructive battle, and began a scorched-earth campaign against the rest of the island.

This scenario focuses on a skirmish within the larger conflict, where the Dutch attempt to defend a key sugar plantation and nearby supply outpost against an advancing French landing force moving through the jungle.

King of the Shipwreck

This is a new style of game we are offering and it replaces our “open play” events of the past.

Beached Ship Battle Report Video

Battle for dominance over a storm-battered wreck in this pirate-themed twist on King of the Hill. Bring your own 200-point Land or Amphibious force (and minis!) and battle it out to seize the high ground and hold the shattered prize against rival captains.

This is a competitive game for players to test their list and skills against others. Players must bring their own 200pt land or sea list (amphibious board provided) and know how to play the game. There will be no full time game manager for this event, and players will be running the game.

Treasure Island

We’re excited for this game!

There is plunder to be had and blood to be spilt! Dive into a fast-paced, light-hearted multiplayer scenario for Blood & Plunder as teams race to Treasure Island, snatching loot while dodging rivals. But beware: not all treasure is what it seems! Booby traps, gators, and a troublesome damsel may complicate your haul.

Teams of two begin at sea, land on the island, and battle to grab objectives before escaping to safety. New-player friendly (A demo game beforehand is recommended). Registering with a friend to play as a team is optional but encouraged.

Blood & Plunder Land Tournament

The land tournament will feature 200pt land lists from any Blood & Plunder expansion. Watch for a complete packet release soon. Packet will include all details including possible scenarios, optional rules, errata applied etc.

Veteran Invitationals

Each year we work super hard prepping and running events for the community. A large portion of the weekend is spent setting up, tearing down, teaching, answering questions and taking minis in and out of cases. Each year we try to schedule a “veterans only” invitational game for organizers and some of the other veteran Blood & Plunder players. If you’re an experienced player and are interested in a faster moving, harder hitting event, feel free to inquire about plans for the Veteran Invitational (it won’t be on the AdeptiCon schedule).

Volunteering during Adepticon

If you love Blood & Plunder (or any of the games Firelock Games supports), and want to help out at the con, we’d love to hear from you! It takes a real team to make everything go smoothly and every year the community is amazing at helping out!

There are always opportunities to:

  • Run demos
  • Help with set up and tear down
  • Help lead teams during Narrative events
  • Providing loaner forces & ships
