Firelock Games has a lot of Blood & Plunder releases lined up for 2026 and this one is a surprise to us (and maybe even them…). As of TODAY (Feb 27), Firelock Games is taking preorders for their brand new Golden Age Pirates Faction Box of 25 resin miniatures. This is a full set of new sculpts packaged in the same format as the original “Nationality Boxes” released in the first Blood & Plunder Kickstarter 10 years ago! I’m starting to feel old…
The multipart plastic miniatures released with the Raise the Black Kickstarter have been a great option for the 18th century pirate forces, but these new sculpts offer another really flavorful option for the iconic Golden Age Pirate crew.

You can read Dan’s Faction Review of the Golden Age Pirates here. This set of minis would be ideal for all the 18th century pirate factions:
Let’s look at some new minis!
Golden Age Pirates Blood & Plunder Faction Box

The new Golden Age Pirates Faction Box will include:
Though not included in the Golden Age Pirate Faction Box, Firelock Games is also simultaneously releasing the Golden Age Pirates Weapons Upgrade unit which is a very useful addition to the set.
One or two of these minis may look a little familiar from previews, Port Royal minis, or the Pegleg Pirate giveaway a while back, but for the most part, these are all brand new, unseen models! In fact, at least one of these minis was entirely sculpted within the last few days! The Firelock sculptors have been working hard!
These minis lean into the “scumbag pirate” aesthetic, representing the pirates of the early 18th century. They enjoy the finery and wealth of the pirate lifestyle without having the same warrior ethos of the 17th century buccaneers. We have lots of weapons, fancy clothes and hats, and fierce faces to go with it.
Apparently a heavily bearded commander at Firelock Games stayed up all night painting these promo minis for display today!
Pirate Commander

The new Pirate Commander model has a fancy coat, a plumed hat, and is brandishing sword and pistol. All style!

Golden Age Pirates

The box contains 2 sets of 4 unique Pirate models with brace of pistols and a sword. We have a full coat, a vest, and two guys in shirtsleeves with lots pistols everywhere!

Roundsmen

These are my favorite of the lot! Some real finery on these veteran pirates.

Pirates with Buccaneer Guns

Pirates come with Brace of Pistols by default, but you can upgrade them to be armed with Buccaneer Guns for long range shooting.

Pirates with Weapon Upgrades

What pirates lack in courage, conviction, morality, and skills, they (partially) make up for with weaponry. This is an add on that isn’t included in this Faction Box (the new model is 8×3) This unit includes 4 models with weapon upgrades, 2 with Blunderbusses and 2 with Explosives.

Pirates always choose that free addition of 1 Blunderbuss per 3 minis, so having some more options for pirates with Blunderbusses will be great!
Golden Age Pirates Faction Box
New minis for the Golden Age! We’re excited to get our hands on these new models and get them on the table! I (Joseph) have been forced to play Golden Age Pirates at the upcoming Adepticon Sea Tournament so I need to get these fast and get them painted up!

You can preorder this box set, or the units and commander individually at Firelock Games website.
- Golden Age Pirates Faction Box

We usually try to provide previews for upcoming releases but Firelock really sprang this one on us all!
Exclusive Giveaway Model
And, of course, there’s an exclusive giveaway model! Orders of over $99 (got to add that Weapons Upgrade pack!) placed between Feb 27 and March 9 will get a special limited edition Roundsman model!

It sounds like these new Pirates will start shipping in the first week of March, so get your order in now to be in the front of the line! Turnaround time on Firelock Games orders has been very quick the last few months, so you could get your minis and have time to paint them up before Adepticon.
